It was late Winter 1951 or 1952, when five other teenage boys and I were practicing our roles as guards for our annual, upcoming Easter Pageant. The pageant was to be performed in our local church. We were to be the guards protecting the cave-like tomb of the recently crucified Jesus. It was just before we were stationed at the tomb when things got somewhat hectic. Our next task was to run, one at a time, out one door south of the platform that was in the center of the two lecterns, across the sanctuary and out another door north of the platform…yelling comments that the Savior Jesus had been captured and was to be crucified. I was to be the second one to run and yell.
The fist boy to run and yell was a tall friend who was a little taller than me, and we were to run up a ramp that extended into the south doorway. As he took off, the energy welling up in his body, the spike on the top of his metallic helmet hit the top of the doorway. He fell down and his helmet fell off.
Helping him upright, we all encouraged him to regain his excitement and take off through the door, which he did. However, about half way across the stage, he suddenly returned and said there was a frightening large object that was hovering above the south section of pews close to the front of the sanctuary.
It sounded so preposterous that we didn’t believe him and quickly pushed him on is way to run and yell across the stage. I was my turn next.
As I charged out the doorway, yelling my part in the play, I looked to my right and saw what seemed to be a huge windowed saucer that was indeed above the south section of pews. But it appeared to be somewhat translucent and dimly luminous. I might have heard the voice at this time, but I don’t clearly remember. After trying to tell the other fellows about the saucer, after they yelled out that they didn’t believe me, I finally ran on across the stage and out the north door. My friend and I then briefly discussed what we had seen…but we were soon distracted by our partners in the play, who insisted we continue without interruption. Unfortunately we forgot the bizarre incident after our Easter Pageant practice.
A little after all of the guards ran across the stage, we saw a smaller saucer develop up at the top of the cross in the back center of the sage. However, when we went up the back stairway to investigate, there was nothing there.
One of the most astonishing things about the large windowed saucer that was over the south section of pews was that it appeared somewhat translucent, its bottom coned section extending down further than the backs of the pews. This would indicate that the saucer was just semi-corporal, i.e. only partly solid. I can estimate this because at other times when others and I tried to touch the coffin-shaped object, for instance, our hands went into it and we felt what seemed to be a mild electric shock.
This is compatible logically to what the voice told me during my father’s and my encounter with the large booth and mysterious men while traveling on a remote gravel road between Crete and Hastings Nebraska, sometime in the late 1950s. During that encounter, the voice said and demonstrated that they could create the crafts and objects and change them from one form into another by manipulating the atomic and molecular structure of matter….such as haze or fog, I presumed.
All of this throws a little different light on modern and ancient UFO encounters in so far as it suggests that there are intelligent beings lurking somewhere beyond the veil of the visible, beings who can quickly create mysterious crafts, objects, beings and men that seem to be completely real, and they can at least somewhat orchestrate the lives of some individuals….such as me.
