When I arrived at what seemed to be about 2,000 feet above the ground and about 200 or 300 feet above a sheet of steel gray clouds, I heard low roaring and what might have been music, off toward the horizon. It seemed particularly strange because the sun seemed to be shining and I remembered it had already set before we left the cabin. Then as the sounds got louder, I was astonished to see a flight of very large discs fly toward me, then descend through the clouds near me. I heard a voice audibly or in my head say that they had come to take people away. I mysteriously descended through the clouds and found myself standing on the ground, in an open lot, in what seemed to be a small city. I saw old houses around the lot and other vacant lots, especially off to my north.
(I know this might seem like my imagination or a dream, but I can assure you, again, it felt as real as anything I had ever experienced.)
I then saw the discs going to a couple of places (house to house), fading into small volumes of fog and distorted atmosphere periodically. I noticed a family on the front porch of the nearest house. Then, very mysteriously, a disc appeared out of a pocket of clear distorted atmosphere near the porch. The wife and children were suddenly gone, but the man remained. He seemed to have been drinking and might have been drunk at the time. He was also smoking. The disappearance of the wife and children startled me. I felt sorry for the man who I was informed would be left behind because of his bad life style and behavior. I then conjectured about the prose and cons of being chosen. But I realized they hadn’t told us where we would go and what it might be like. I got very confused and distraught. I felt myself lift off of the ground and return to the same spot beside the man and Don. I might have asked the old man where they would take us, but don’t remember.

They explained further that they are not allowed to interfere in the affairs of humankind except at certain times, when things are going awry or are dangerous. They said this is one of those times, one of those eras. They continued to state that if they hadn't interfered in the past, we would have destroyed ourselves...and that if they don't interfere now and in the future, we will indeed destroy ourselves.
