My story is so lengthy and complex, it took me over 14 years to understand it, and to write my first book Eminent Discovery. When Brad Steiger heard about it, he asked me to write an article to be included in his and Sherry’s then new book Real Visitors, Voices from Beyond, and Parallel Dimensions. Because he and Sherry were so kind to me when I attended his workshop/lecture in Omaha, Nebraska in the early 1990s, I wrote an original article that summarized what I had experienced intermittently for over forty six years of my life.

As it turned out, it is the best summery/overview I have written. Please see it below.

I was so sorry to hear that Brad and Sherry died a few years ago. They were considered two of the most honest and reliable paranormal researchers of our time.

THE ASTONISHING LIFETIME ENCOUNTERS OF JOHN FOSTER

I believe it was the late 1980s or early 1990s when I met Brad Steiger and his wife, Sherry. A friend had asked me to attend Brad’s lecture in Omaha, Nebraska, at the Peter Kiewit Center. It was a time when I had been totally devastated by a sudden flood of memories of strange craft and beings as well as an enormous number of strange encounters that had periodically or intermittently occurred since my very early childhood.

Without going into other details, I first would like to state that I have written this contribution to Brad and Sherry’s book because I wanted to thank them for the kindness they showed me during their Omaha lecture. This article also is a token of thanks for their commitment to and contributions to a more accurate understanding of our universe. I am aware that they both have helped an enormous number of people like me.

I am what you could call a UFO “contactee,” who will be a seventy-eight-year-old man in the fall of 2015. I married my wonderful wife, Annie, in 1958. We have three wonderful adult children, eleven grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. I’ve had experience as a research and development electromechanical engineer— in the nuclear, aerospace, fluidic, civil, and commercial fields— but without a formal degree. I’ve also been a general contractor and home builder, artist, author, and lecturer, among several other things. We live in Middle America, in the heart of the “Bible Belt.” We were raised in typical middle-class families … under the umbrella of American-style Christianity.

Until early 1986, at age forty-eight, I hadn’t recalled anything about so-called UFO encounters in my life except possibly for several mysterious things that I couldn’t understand … and at least one obvious UFO sighting in 1981 with my now ex-son-in-law, who has born witness to what we saw. During this sighting, the craft (a glowing, orange disc) flew about one hundred feet over our heads after we (I) said a prayer that we might be able to see a UFO. My prayer had been to the Father of Christ, the creator of our universe. As the hot, glowing disc flew off toward the horizon, it (at least twice) tipped slightly, as if to say, “You’re welcome!” We especially wondered what connection God might have with UFOs, and we, of course, wondered who it might be who flew the craft … where it came from and where it went. We have never forgotten this encounter.

Then, during my intense period of spontaneous recollection that occurred in early 1986 through early 1987, before Brad’s talk in Omaha, I began recalling the enormous number of mysterious encounters that had occurred since my birth in 1937. In August 1986, during this flood of memory, I experienced my last encounter. During this final overt encounter, I got extremely angry and we (the mysterious intelligences who had been orchestrating the encounters and I) had a parting of the ways. During our parting of the ways, a mysterious voice (who I now call “the Voice”) coming from the craft asked me why I was so angry, and I told him it was because: 1) I couldn’t remember the experiences, and 2) it was ruining my more normal life. He then told me that “they” (whoever “they” were) didn’t want me to remember what had happened to me in the way of UFO contact. He said if I did recall, it would negate the purpose of the encounters. He went on to say that “they” preferred we continue as we had been (me not remembering) so that I could develop my metaphysical or spiritual talents and abilities so I would be able to carry out my task, for which I had been trained, conditioned, and educated my entire life … a task I was expected to accomplish in my later years. It was a task I knew nothing about at the time.

I began to feel more anger and shock as I stood there listening to him. It was a rich, male voice who spoke in perfect English. Yet, he surprised me by saying I had a choice to remember or not remember. If I chose to remember, he said, I could meet the people I would be involved with in “the project” (a mysterious project I knew nothing about at the time), and he said those people (who I knew nothing about at the time) could possibly help me develop those talents and abilities. I got even more concerned and puzzled when he said I had to choose there and then during this last encounter and that my choice would be final. However, I remember thinking that I really didn’t have to choose at all, that I could simply ignore him, whoever he was.

I don’t recall choosing, but I must have chosen subconsciously to recall because I soon began recalling most everything that had happened to me since my birth, in the way of UFO contact, including this last encounter, and I did meet those same people in 1987 … people with whom I was told I allegedly would meet who could help me develop the metaphysical and spiritual talents and abilities … people with whom, I was astonished to recall, I had time traveled during the 1950s, etc. I presently call them the “familiar strangers.”

To say the least, I was again totally shocked when I actually met them in the spring of 1987. They seemed extremely familiar. I began to know some of them very well, and we discovered we had experienced similar encounters, and I found through memory that they had been present during many of the time travels that occurred during the late 1940s and throughout the 1950s.

As we got to know each other fairly well— even though we couldn’t establish for certain we had taken the same time travels— we found we were told and shown some of the exact same things during our respective so-called UFO encounters and spiritual encounters … encounters that had occurred somewhat subtly and also obtrusively throughout our lives.

Some of the common things and happenings we had experienced involved minute, technical details that concerned what you could call an ET/ human “project” that involved all of us and others. Some of us recalled enough details to convince especially me that we had encountered the same “mysterious intelligences” who were somewhat orchestrating at least a part of our lives.

I gave it a go with “the “familiar strangers” for a few years but found that the entire preplanned “project” caused personal problems for many of us, and I developed severe, life-threatening health problems caused by my fear, anger, anxiety, and frustration. My mental and physical condition got so bad I nearly died from massive heart attacks, failed heart surgery, and other serious health problems. For over ten years, my doctors called me a walking time bomb. They said I could die at any time, even those times when I stood there talking with them. For several years, for several reasons, I had refused medical treatment.

Yet, during this traumatic period, I was able to write about my encounters, give some talks around the country, give interviews to several newspapers, minor magazines, and radio and TV programs. I also participated in a few UFO studies sponsored by prominent universities.

I became even more devastated when I discovered that my heart attacks and surgeries were accurately predicted. I recalled that a strange being had verbally told me about them as I lay on an examination table in a hovering flying saucer during a 1950 abduction encounter in Eastern Nebraska. This was some thirty-eight years before the heart attacks and surgeries actually occurred, and I remembered this 1950 encounter two-plus years before I suffered the heart attacks and surgeries.

Yet, I felt a great relief when I discovered through my recollections that, during an encounter in western Wyoming (what I call The Sheridan Creek Fireguard Cabin Time Travel), I was told I could choose to participate in the project or not participate, etc. So, years ago, sometime in the 1990s, I decided it wasn’t worth it, that “the project” was not only affecting good relations in my family but also other families, etc. So I decided not to participate in the project. I will now only pass information on if asked … or until “they” show up again and convince me without a doubt that this is all for the betterment of humankind and in the interest of who we know as God.

Again, I believe it is more than interesting that I discovered through my memories that I was never alone during the encounters except for a few short episodes. I have identified at least 120 people who I knew well who were with me during one or more encounters … encounters that took place in remote areas and also in the center of cities with large crowds nearby. The encounters occurred at all times of the day and night but most often from noon to midnight … from coast to coast and from Canada to Mexico but most occurring in Nebraska as well as Wyoming and Colorado, etc.

Throughout the years after my 1986– 1987 flood of recollections, I found several witnesses who were present during some of the encounters. In some of these cases, we found that their memories match mine, in several cases down to the minute details. The first witness I contacted, for instance, recalled the first and last part of an encounter that took place thirty-six years earlier.

I also have discovered what I consider to be an enormous number of supporting facts and happenings that extend from prehistory into our modern human culture … facts and happenings that indicate that my memories basically are very accurate, save a few possible misinterpretations. This includes the many mysteries that are recorded in the ancient Sumerian, Babylonian, Egyptian, Greek, and Roman texts … as well as many others, including the folklore of most of the Native tribes of the entire world. Some of my encounters, for instance, are somewhat accurately described at various places in the Bible from Genesis through Revelations.

In past and recent years, I wrote about my encounters and established a website because I felt I owed other fellow humans in the traditional community the unusual information so they also could realize there is indeed a spiritual world out there that sometimes interacts with our physical world interdimensionally … including physically, and because our mysterious encounters included “out-of-body” experiences, I felt it would be helpful for others to know there is indeed rational, mental, and spiritual life after death. According to my experiences, investigations, and research, all of this is related to actual facts that can expand our present understanding of science, religion, history, and legend, to put it broadly. (New discoveries in quantum mechanics also support the accuracy of my memories and the nature of the unusual phenomena we observed during the encounters.)

Remember, I’m primarily coming at this from a research and development engineer’s point of view, accepting nothing that can’t be supported by rational evidence. This is one of the reasons it has been so hard on me. I cannot rationally deny the rational evidence. In my opinion, there is no mistake; these things actually happened. However, as above, it all has been extremely hard for me to handle. Yet, I have survived somewhat normally, still harboring a positive point of view.

In light of all of this and more, I will no longer maintain an interest in my UFO website, and I no longer will do most interviews or talks. Instead, I hope to enjoy my family and my art. However, under the right circumstances in my view, I would be happy to pass more of the information along. It’s been twenty-eight years now since my flood of recollections. I’m not saying goodbye, but I am pulling away from it all to enjoy my life in a more conventional way … which, it seems, is the way “they,” “the mysterious intelligences,” wanted it. (As an aside, I know several other so-called UFO “contactees” and “abductees” who also have drawn away from their involvement in related postencounter activities. Some have drawn away completely to live a more conventional life and some to live a more spiritual life.)

I still believe “they,” “the mysterious intelligences” who I encountered, are most probably who they said they were … brotherhoods (historical brotherhoods) who are “the monitors or keepers of the Earth,” who have aided in the original creation of humankind, they told me, using something similar to test tubes. The mysterious intelligences, I also was told, are responsible to a hierarchy that includes the historic archangels Michael and Gabriel, who in turn are responsible to the entity who we have historically called Christ, who is in charge of this corner of the universe. They (the brotherhoods), I was told, are not allowed to interfere with the affairs of humankind except at certain times when things are going awry or are dangerous. They clandestinely (sometimes subliminally) orchestrate the lives of some individuals … at times so that they can guide the destiny of our human culture … as they have throughout the ages.

“The project” is a good example of their interaction with humans. Several pieces of convincing evidence indicates that the brilliant light and “the Voice” were indeed the historic Michael.

I believe it is more than interesting that “the project” has already begun. Through my recollections of the time travels and comparing information with “the “familiar strangers,” I have discovered that “the project” involves providing subsistence, housing, and education for an influx of people who have moved into our area and will move into our area at some time in the future. This especially involves those who already have come and are now coming into Middle America from south of the border. It was indicated during the time travels that we are especially to help the orphans.

My personal task that I have been trained throughout my life to accomplish later in life is to help with the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings of various kinds but especially schools and “spiritual learning centers.” I saw the future happenings, the specific buildings, their locations, and their detailed construction specifications during the future time travels with the familiar strangers. The Voice, the mysterious men, and beings narrated what was happening as we actually experienced those future events during the time travels.

Sitting here writing to you, I remain shocked when I realize that since my 1986– 1987 flood of recollections, I have: 1) located many of the future building sites and existing buildings, 2) I have personally met many of the “familiar strangers,” and 3) I and others have done and stated some of the exact same things we experienced, saw, spoke, and heard during the previous 1940s– 1950s future time travels. Even though I have chosen not to participate in the project, I have already drawn the plans for the first building we were told we are to construct. It is an accredited high school that also is to function as an after-hours adult learning center … etc., etc., etc.

There are many more facts that I could relate to you but space is limited here. Suffice it to say, my encounters mesh very nicely with what Brad and Sherry are trying to convey. My encounters also mesh nicely with what they already have given us throughout the years, through their lectures and books.
