This story concerns what humans have learned to call UFOs…Unidentified Flying Objects, or UAPs…Unidentified Areal Phenomenon. I am deeply involved and have been my entire life; although I wasn’t totally aware of it for many, many years.

Even though what you will read below might seem unbelievable, I assure you these things actually happened. I have been checked out professionally by psychologists and psychiatrists.

Also, as you continue reading, you will find I have some witnesses who were present when the encounters occurred. In addition, there has been an enormous amount of so-called UFO information recorded from our modern era extending back to prehistory. This information, in various ways, supports what I have reported, here, in the books I’ve written, and on my website, https://johnfosterufos.com/.

There were more than unidentified objects involved during my encounters…and these unidentified objects did not always fly. There were strange men dressed in street clothes and strange beings not dressed in clothes. There were “familiar strangers”…and believe it or not there was time travel into the future with the familiar strangers. There was an ET/human project, with buildings involved and the construction of buildings. There were immigrants, immigrants who would migrate into the middle United States at some time in the future…which is actually now, a few years ago, and a few years from now.

Rather than first seeing the crafts and objects flying high in the sky, we most often witnessed them manifesting close by, from blue or gray distorted atmosphere, or haze, or fog, or from a small cloud that was sometimes churning with roaring sounds. Yet, a few times we did witness crafts manifesting from large churning roaring clouds that were high in the sky. The crafts and objects, whether flying high or low, sometimes could disappear and reappear with a brilliant flash and loud explosion…like dynamite. They most often could disappear and reappear by other means as well.

I believe a review is important at this time because my story is so extremely lengthy and complex, and because it somewhat represents thousands and possibly millions of other UFO “contactee” stories that are not so detailed with nearly complete photographic memory.

I believe it also is extremely important to review my story at this time because the overall UFO story in general and my and some other UFO stories can give us information that will significantly increase our understanding of human life on Earth from its very beginning…and our understanding of our eternal universe from its beginning (i.e, if there ever was one…a beginning). This includes a deeper understanding of our sciences, religions, and history.

Besides this, I am getting old; I am losing some of my short-term memory from time to time. If I don’t review my memories now, through this article, I possibly will forget some of the important details. Therefore, consider that this review will be from the memory of an 84-year-old man. However, it will be a somewhat short report when compared to the extremely large number of my encounters and my many years of close contact.

This review, although brief in light of the many encounters others and I experienced, will be somewhat complex because my family and I have lived diverse lives from 1957 to the present. Our lives have been diverse, not only diverse because of the many so-called UFO encounters, but because of the nature of my research and development engineering vocations and my home building vocations. Most research projects in the mid to late 1900s lasted an average of 2 or 3 years, and the home building business has been fluid, reflecting the ups and downs of our economy throughout the years. This was the reason I held several different jobs, and it was the reason my family and I lived in several different places. Yet, I firmly believe our lives have been intricately orchestrated by the so-called UFO intelligences.

I believe it’s important for you to know how the encounters were linked to my family’s lives in order for you to understand how the underlying UFO influences might possibly have connections to your life. I believe it’s important for all humans to know how UFOs have been connected to our human culture from its very beginning. You will find that my encounters are solidly connected to Christianity, other worldly religions, all native tribes of the Earth, and the development of humankind.

Because, until now, I am the only one in our family who recalls an enormous number of encounters that have occurred since my birth, this turns out to be a story about my encounters and how they are connected to my destiny. Others, including my family members were involved, but because of their lack of clear memory, neither they nor I can discover how and to what extent they are involved. They might be as deeply involved as I am, but unfortunately (or possibly fortunately) none of us remember their involvement in many encounters. Actually, because I have suffered from my recollections, none of my family really want to remember UFO encounters.

According to my recollections the term Flying Saucer was first reported in newspapers sometime in 1947, when I was nine years old. This included pilot Kenneth Arnold’s sighting of a saucer-shaped object near Mount Rainier. And of course it included the renowned Flying Saucer crashes near Roswell, New Mexico that same year.

Other public articles and radio broadcasts routinely mentioned those encounters as well as others throughout the ensuing years. After I became aware of a few references to mysterious encounters that were occurring in people’s bedrooms (sometime during the mid-1950s), our Sunday Lincoln Journal newspaper speculated that the so-called extraterrestrials from outer space could somehow see into your bedroom and know what you were doing from time to time. I was approximately thirteen to sixteen years old at the time and got very intrigued by that possibility. However, at this time I don’t recall any UFO encounter that occurred in my bedroom.

I didn’t foresee at that time I would indeed experience some very mysterious encounters in the approaching years…and I didn’t know I already had experienced a multitude of encounters since my birth in 1937. However, I did experience some very strange feelings through my subconscious throughout the years…feelings that indicated something I couldn’t quite understand was happening to me personally…something that lay beyond my conscious recollection.

With a few exceptions, my lack of conscience awareness concerning my own close encounters lasted for another period of around thirty years…until 1986 and 1987 when I experienced a mysterious “flood of recollections.” That ultimately changed my personal and professional life dramatically. In a relatively short period I recalled over 3,000 short UFO sightings and incidents that had occurred since a couple of years after my birth in 1937. I eventually could link the sightings and incidents together into what turned out to be hundreds of short and long so-called “close UFO encounters.” Some were very close and very long and some were not.

Yet, you should know, in 1981 before my flood of recollections, my now ex-son-in-law and I said a prayer that we might be able to see a UFO…and about three minutes later a glowing orange disc flew approximately 100 over our heads. It, at least twice, tipped slightly as if to say, “You’re welcome!” Needless to say we wondered how God was connected to UFOs and who it might be who flew the craft…where it came from and where it went.

I also could always recall other mysterious happenings that I couldn’t completely understand.

As my memories came flooding back in 1986 and 1987, during my flood of recollections, I became totally shocked by the somewhat unbelievable details. I recalled mysteriously with nearly total photographic memory. And, of course at times, I thought I might be going crazy, that I might be psychotic. So, as soon as I gathered enough courage, I called an old friend who had been with me during one obvious encounter. I got shocked when he surprisingly recalled the first and last parts of that lengthy 1950 encounter…an encounter that had occurred some thirty-six years earlier. A little later his father also recalled parts of the encounter, but he couldn’t connect his memories to a UFO. Needless to say I again got totally stunned; this instantly told me I might not be going mad.

After my 1986/1987 flood of recollections other witnesses also recalled that we had contact with UFOs at other specific times throughout the years. And it is interesting to point out that I was never alone during the encounters throughout those 46 plus years, except for a few short periods.

In 1987, because I had somewhat spontaneously recalled an enormous number of encounters and because they were so complex and lengthy, I knew it would take me at least 10 years of reflection and contemplation to understand what had happened. I had been in research and development engineering for many years; I was somewhat experienced in researching the unknown and I was extremely interested in knowing the authentic details. The details of my encounters eventually told me that our human life on earth involved much, much more than we believed it did.

In 1987 I discovered R. Leo Sprinkle’s Rocky Mountain Conference On UFO Investigation and attended his conference in Laramie, Wyoming. I met many people there, some from various places around the world, people who had experienced similar encounters. However, none of their encounters seemed as extensive and complex as mine. (Leo was a PhD Psychologist. He has recently died and was Professor Emeritus of Counseling Services at Wyoming University.)

After Fowler Jones asked me to go public with my story in 1988, at The Psychic Studies Institute in Kansas City, I suffered massive heart attacks and had coronary bypass surgery. The surgery eventually failed, and I lost over half of my heart. It was my fear of going public, my fear of being labeled psychotic that caused the heart attacks. Yet, I was able to travel some and gave some talks around the country during the 1990s. I had another coronary bypass surgery in 1995, but suffered other life-threatening health problems throughout the years. My wife also suffered life-threatening health problems, but we have been fortunate to have encountered some very good doctors who have kept us alive during the past 35 years. During those talks, from Washington state to Florida, we met many people who also had experienced similar so-called UFO encounters. (Fowler is a PhD Psychologist. This article is a simple brief review of my 46 plus years of so-called UFO encounters. Since my 1986/1987 flood of recollections, I have conscientiously tried not to dramatize my story. I’ve tried to convey the information as truthfully and clearly as I can…so you, the reader can accept it as the actual truth, at least to the best of your ability.

Because my story is so lengthy and complex, the following will be brief bullet outlines roughly relating what happened throughout those 46 plus years and some of the meanings I and others have conjectured. The information included will relate family situations that throw a generational flavor over the encounters…ultimately suggesting that my family also was involved to some extent.
– I believe my father was involved because the intelligences I encountered were extremely interested in the well-being of the wildlife and nature. – My father was responsible for parks and recreation areas, habitat and wildlife. We experienced many encounters in recreation areas, wildlife areas, and state parks. He and a co-employee were levitated up into a booth-like craft during a lengthy encounter where the voice lectured them about their employment responsibilities.
– I believe my mother was involved because she sometimes realized what was happening and tried to protect me from the strange crafts and objects. When traveling she sometimes would tell me to get into the back seat of our car between my two older sisters so: “…they can’t get you this time.”
– I believe my wife is involved because my wife has seriously stuck by my side throughout many difficult years; she has helped me handle the experiences and helped me keep my feet on the ground. Besides that, UFOs showed up when she first met my family, as we were playing touch football at one of Nebraska’s state recreation areas.
– I believe our children are involved, especially because they recall and were significantly a part of one family encounter that occurred at Dillon Lake in Colorado in 1975. And I recall they also were taken into crafts and objects at other times.
