UFOs At The Core Of Our Culture

After some time, as people became aware of my unusual life-long encounters, I was asked to speak to various UFO groups across the country. Many were small UFO groups and others were moderately large. The largest audience was to the 2001 International UFO Congress Convention in Laughlin, Nevada.

Fortunately, I had prepared and given talks to the 2000 Ozark UFO Conference and several others. In total, preparing for the International Convention and the Ozark Conference, I spent well over six months, full time, fine tuning my story and creating drawings for illustration. Since it took over fourteen years to understand what had happened to me and to write the two books Eminent Discovery and To Earth From Heaven, you could say it took me the total of those fourteen years to prepare for these two important talks. I was the Keynote Speaker at the Ozark talk and a Featured Speaker at the Laughlin talk. In total, for the books and the talks, I created over 170 drawings…most representing my view when the mysterious encounters occurred. The Ozark talk shows more of my lack of speaking experience, but conveys more of my genuine emotional reaction to the bizarre knowledge of the more-than shocking experiences. The Laughlin talk is probably the most comprehensive and all-inclusive talk I’ve given.

As a matter of interest, I also have been interviewed somewhat extensively on radio, TV, and on internet audio blogs — in major and minor newspapers and minor magazines. And I’ve participated in UFO studies sponsored by major and minor universities…including a few doctoral studies.

To my knowledge the reality of UFOs, since the 1930s, has been hard to believe. When my story first became public in the late 1980s many UFO investigators thought I was lying or I was psychotic. However, a few honest researchers asked reasonable questions and realized I was truthful and not psychotic. This was because of a number of things, including rational deduction and collaborating evidence.Below is a letter answer to Steve Snodgrass of the Omaha UFO Study Group, an answer to the question why I believe these encounters actually occurred in three dimensional time/space. The Letter:

My story is so lengthy and complex, it took me over 14 years to understand it, and to write my first book Eminent Discovery. When Brad Steiger heard about it, he asked me to write an article to be included in his and Sherry’s then new book Real Visitors, Voices from Beyond, and Parallel Dimensions. Because he and Sherry were so kind to me when I attended his workshop/lecture in Omaha, Nebraska in the early 1990s, I wrote an original article that summarized what I had experienced intermittently for over forty six years of my life.

I was so sorry to hear that Brad and Sherry died a few years ago. They were considered two of the most honest and reliable paranormal researchers of our time.

Many encounters occurred while we were driving down a remote country road or on a main highway. Most were what you would call an abduction, in the fact that we sometimes experience a loss of time and couldn’t recall what happened…i.e. until my 1986/1987 “flood of recollections.”

As an example, the following encounter provided my companions and me an opportunity to inspect the craft up-close and personal. It felt so good to exercise. I climbed the rocks at the rim of the canyon, while my younger cousins went wild, running and screaming southeast of me. (I had just seen one or two strange craft, but couldn’t recall the details.)

Mid summer, 1952: We were sightseeing between Lake City and Crede, Colorado – at the majestic falls on a northern fork of the Rio Grande River. A new one!!!!!

During some encounters what happened seemed so puzzling we couldn’t seem to make sense of them. We couldn’t rationalize the purpose or meaning. However, during my 1986/1987 flood of recollections I was able to link them to a broader range of knowledge, especially as I had the time to review them and compare one experience to another or others, even if years or decades separated the encounters I was trying to understand.

The following is a very weird encounter that took place in a cabin at Niobrara State Park when I was traveling on an extended trip with an aunt and uncle and family. We had just rented a cabin at the park which is in the northeast part of Nebraska. Yet, this was the old park which eventually was vacated because of floods on the Niobrara River. At present the new park is located in the hills just west of this location. This encounter is narrated in Chapter 7 of the book Eminent Discovery Volume 1. I know it’s unbelievable, but I assure you it happened.
