Hunting with my brother-in-law in the mid 1970s, I witnessed a different visual effect. First, the light shown down on my brother-in-law and another fellow who hunted with us. Then, the light shown down on me. This time, more than one light was involved. Twenty or more very small spotlights flashed and swirled on the bottom of a small craft that hovered about five feet above us. The mysterious light made all of us appear completely unusual. I don’t know exactly how I looked, but the nature of the lights seemed so peculiar it transformed my two companions into a whirling speckled array of radiance.
During recollection, I presumed the intelligence behind all of this wanted us to remember this particular day – for what reason, I couldn’t really say. Sometimes, I wondered if all of these luminous occasions might have been symbolic communication intended to convey my dire need of enlightenment.
The craft appeared out of what seemed to be a horizontal slit in the atmosphere. It just hovered there with only its bottom half visible. When I looked at it just five feet above me, the illumination didn’t seem to be extremely brilliant.
